Thank you for attending the 9th Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference. This year, we had a total of 345 participants from 27 countries around the world delivering 167 lectures in 33 scientific sessions which included 7 plenary lectures and 22 keynote lectures. More than 150 poster presenters shared their work in 2 separate poster sessions. We had the pleasure of awarding the AsBIC Outstanding Achievement Award to Prof Sue Berners-Price (Griffith University, Australia) and the Graeme Hanson-AsBIC Early Career Researcher Awards to Prof Woon Ju Song (Seoul National University, South Korea) and Prof Tsai-Te Lu (National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan). We also inaugurated the James Hoeschele AsBIC award aimed at recognizing midcareer bioinorganic researchers in the Asia-Pacific region. The award nomination is now open and details are available on AsBIC-9 website.
In addition, we awarded 3 prizes for Best Oral Presentation to Runming Wang (University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR), Abhinav Mohanty (National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India) and Terenzi Alessio (Donostia International Physics Centre, Spain). The conference Top Poster Award went to Le Hai Van (National University of Singapore, Singapore). We also awarded prizes to 4 students who delivered the most creative 1-min YouTube video presentations, namely Miho Otake (Nagoya University, Japan), Jiarun Lin (University of Sydney, Australia), Masaki Hibino (Nagoya University, Japan) and Betty Yuen Tung Lee (University of Auckland, New Zealand). All in all, it was a hectic but rewarding week of scientific conversations and exchange of ideas.
The conference photos and the photo montage video are now available for downloading on the website. We hope that these photos will provide you treasured memories of your time here in Singapore.
